Onyx Sober Living in New Richmond was the recipient of fundraising at the recent Hudson Hometown Music Fest at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Hudson. The silent auction and wine pull proceeds from the annual day of music and children’s activities totaled $4,150. Onyx Sober Living is peer-supported housing for people in early recovery from illicit drugs or alcohol. According to the program founders Julie Smith and Jim Giossi, sober living homes were opened in New Richmond because of the great resources in that community such as jobs, outpatient therapy, medical services and strong community support.
